HAMBURG FOR THE 2027 EDITION

Hamburg is one of Europe’s leading industrial and technology centers and a strategic location for the composites industry. As Germany’s second-largest city and one of Europe’s most important ports, Hamburg combines advanced manufacturing, aerospace, renewable energy, maritime technologies and research excellence.

No Images found.

WHY HAMBURG

It offers a strong technological and industrial ecosystem, making it highly relevant for the composites sector:

Hamburg is home to one of the world’s largest aerospace clusters.
The Hamburg Aviation Cluster brings together more than 300 companies and research organizations, including Airbus, Lufthansa Technik, Hamburg Airport and numerous technology providers and engineering specialists.
The Airbus ecosystem plays a major role in the region’s composites expertise, particularly through the nearby Stade site, internationally recognized for carbon fiber reinforced composites (CFRP) technologies and the development of lightweight structures for aircraft programs such as the A350.

The Hamburg metropolitan region is home to Composites United – CU Nord, the successor of the internationally recognized CFK Valley network, one of Europe’s most influential composites clusters.
The region brings together manufacturers, suppliers, research centres and innovation platforms working on:

  •  Carbon fiber composites
  •  Automated manufacturing technologies
  •  Lightweight structures
  •  Sustainable materials
  •  Hydrogen and future mobility solutions
  •  Wind energy applications

The region is also active in the development of composite solutions for renewable energy and hydrogen technologies.

Hamburg hosts numerous universities, research centers and innovation platforms specializing in advanced materials, aerospace engineering and sustainable manufacturing.
This concentration of industrial and scientific expertise makes Hamburg one of Europe’s most attractive environments for innovation in composites and lightweight technologies.

With its combination of industrial expertise, academic excellence, and cultural wealth, Cologne is the perfect host for JEC Forum DACH 2026.
